Retail Operations and Logistics Center

Over the past 29 years, the Hope Chest Thrift Stores have been an integral part of the community for shoppers to find quality used goods for a great value. While we are so thankful to be part of such a giving community, donations continue to be in high demand. Our stores are in need of gently used clothing, housewares, jewelry, books, furniture, shoes as well as other household items. Proceeds generated are used to support the patients, families and programs offered by Community Hospice.
Last year, with the help our Public Relations Department we developed a new website for our Hope Chest Thrift Stores which launched in late fall. The user-friendly site hopechestthrift.org, features our newly redesigned Hope Chest Thrift Store logo, store and donation information, upcoming sales and a new online store.
In 2022, our seven Hope Chest Thrift Stores collectively generated $6,176,627; this is a 6% increase over revenue generated in 2021. Just over 5% of the 2022 gross revenues come from our recycling program.
In efforts to assist with keeping unnecessary items out of our local landfills, the Hope Chest Thrift Stores recycle as many unsellable items as possible. In 2022, 14,120 pounds of E-Waste along with 1,292,019 pounds of unsellable clothing and over 172,265 pounds of reprocessed items such as shoes, books, cardboard, and metal were recycled through our Logistics Center. These initiatives continue to divert items from local area landfills and lower disposal costs along and generate additional revenue to support the mission of Community Hospice.
